Learn To Speak Italian

Spoken by over 60 million people, Italian is a romance language that hosts a large number of cultural works known worldwide. Considered to be the closest living language to Latin, Italian’s grammar is considerably simpler than its ancestor’s.

You may be interested in learning Italian for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you are going on a vacation to Italy or intend to live there. Maybe you have Italian ancestry or plan on getting a job that involves work with Italians. Whatever the reason may be, learning Italian can be a very rewarding exeperience.

If you already speak another romance language like Spanish or French, you will find that Italian is very similar. Many linguists estimate that the lexical similarity between Italian and French is 89% while the lexical similarity between Italian and Spanish is 82%. Even if you have only studied Spanish or French in high school, you will find that the grammar is quite similar and easy to pick up.

For English speakers, Italian is often remarked to have a “pleasing” sound to it, most likely due to its great use of vowels and especially its use of vowels at the end of words. Unfortunately, this stress of vowels also means that listening to Italian seems like an incomprehensible stream to most English-speaking Italian language learners just beginning their studies,...

What is Travel Insurance?

When you plan a trip, the last thing you want to think about is how things could go wrong. Isn’t the whole point of a vacation an escape from the stress and worries of everyday life Realistically, though, no matter where you are, bad things can happen. It’s easier to relax and enjoy your time away if you know you are protected in an emergency.

Travel policies reimburse you for stolen, lost, or delayed luggage. They can pay for your emergency medical care when you are away from home. Travel insurance plans offer numerous options allowing you to choose exactly the features that best suit your needs. Insurance is available for a single trip, or you can buy a policy for year-round protection if frequent travel for business or pleasure is on your schedule.

Almost any travel insurance policy covers the expense of canceling or rescheduling your travel due to unforeseen events. Make sure your policy also covers costs of getting home from an intermediate destination. Many travel insurers provide around-the-clock assistance for booking an alternate flight when the airlines leave you stranded, or for finding a hotel room at the last minute in an unplanned destination. Travel insurance also will include coverage for lost or stolen luggage. You may want to be sure you sign up for coverage for your out-of-pocket expenses necessitated by luggage that is delivered late. And it’s almost a certainty that you will want more than the relatively small compensation the airlines are required to give you if they destroy or lose your belongings,...

Make Your Traveling Well Planned

When planning your vacation, it’s always a good idea to plan way ahead. Traveling is a big enough event without adding undo stress brought on by lack of proper organization. When your vacation is going to be a cruise, it’s even more important to plan ahead, especially if you are planning on getting some package holidays for the family. These often have special family rates and go quickly. Planning your cruise is one thing, booking it is the important part.

We don’t always know months ahead of time of a trip we are going to take. Many couples, with their busy work schedules, don’t get around to planning and scheduling their vacation until a month or two in advance. Often this is not enough time to get the cruise of your choice. Do not automatically give up. Many times they have cancellations and can get you on after all.

Certain cruises are more popular than others, however, and these are the ones that usually need the most advance notice for booking. Many couples don’t like to book too far in advance because they are often required to pay at that time, which is a problem for some. Some companies, however, will only require a certain down payment, with the balance being due at a later date. Another advantage of early booking is you often get discounts.

A cruise to Bermuda has always been a popular vacation for any tourist. The trip to Florida only takes a few days and then you’re on a beautiful fun-filled island. If you plan on,...

Rome’s Villa Borghese Will Thrill The Tourists

Rome resembles many big metropolises because it is always alive with outdoor things to do. So when you are a tourist in Rome, the pace can be non-stop, which can make you wish you could find a quiet and peaceful place to relax . And the spot that fits that description perfectly is the Villa Borghese.

While at only 148 acres, the Villa Borghese is not the largest facility of its kind, it has a lot to offer including museums, aviaries and a lovely artificial lake. The origin of the facility dates to the 16th century when Cardinal Borghese created the park using geometric landscaping to capture some of the feel he had experienced at Versailles. In fact, the basic design of the villa was based on a sketch by the Cardinal that the developers used to create the park.

The man made lake was added in the 18th century to the center of Villa Borghese. To add to the scenic vision of the lake, a small Ionic style temple was added which was dedicated to the God of Healing.

Just as Cardinal Borghese took great pleasure in admiring the peacocks, ostriches and other exotic birds in the aviaries where gazelles once stayed, these birds are there for your enjoyment as well.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Villa Borghese was handed over to the city of Rome for a public park. Since then much has been done to improve the location, including the addition of a number o,...
